Post World Cup

Sunday was the last day of the World Cup, the final saw Germany take on Argentina for Germany to score one goal in added time to be crowned winners of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. It wasn't the best game to watch, but the pressure on both teams could be felt by all. Each team had their countries behind them willing them to win, but like in most games, there could only be one winner, and what a team they were to win! These are the stars of the World Cup, with players that are similar ages to me,  took to the world stage and performed the best, taking home the only prize they needed... The World Cup.
The person I feel most sorry for was Messi, he been call the player of our time, which I don't doubt, but a man is only as good as the team that supports him, there as they say is no I in team. One world class player can't win it for his country, the team wasn't strong enough to take on the Germany's, who had world class players, in goal Manuel Neuer (who I now have a crush on... He's a bit of a hottie) plus Thomas Müller playing midfield, and the man of the last match for his only goal in the game, Mario Götze. Plus the whole squad who worked so hard to bring the Trophy back to Germany after 24years (about my age). They were a well oiled machine who will be a team to watch when the Euros take place in two years time as this is a squad who will continue to be together for many years time.
I'd also like to say well done to Brazil for hosting an amazing tournament, a fantastic back drop to these game, I just hope it leave a lasting impression on the people of Brazil, and good fortune to them all. I know myself it's a country I would love to visit, and will be on many peoples bucket lists too.

We all now have a month before the premier league starts, so I'm going to take a chill from football, as I've been watching as many matches as I could, as well as a bit of tennis. As soon as the premier league starts I'll be behind my team, Everton.

All I can hope is that in four years time, the trophy will be coming back to England... Well a girl can dream right?

Last nights trip to the cinema "22 Jump Street"

Hey,

I haven't been to the cinema in ages, so when my friend asked if I wanted to go with her and use her orange Wednesday code, I thought it might be time to get out of the house. We looked at the list of which they were showing and thought a good laugh would be the best thing to watch. I had already seen "21 Jump Street" which I loved, I was laughing so much and it was great to stare at Channing Tatum... He just dreamy.
This film picks up where the other film finished, with the two main characters Janko (Channing Tatum) and Schmidt (Jonah Hill) going under cover to find out who is supplying drugs on campus at a college, therefore the boys are off to college! Yep instead of high school, they have been upgraded.
Now this film doesn't take itself seriously... That's what makes it so funny. There are so many parts that make you laugh, from when the boys find the drugs, try and get into a frat house, (Tatum just climbs the building while Hill gets a rope to pull him up while he has a safety helmet on). There is more of Ice Cubes character in this film, and I think he's great... A perfect angry man in parts.

This was a great film to pick to have a laugh with, I'd be quite happy to go see this again... Hopefully soon.

Enjoy your week,

Hello July

Heeyyyy,

Another day, another month. And here is July.

I woke up this morning and decided I needed to make sure this month I stay fit and health, therefore I started the day by going to the little gym we have set up in the garden. With the radio on loud I did a small work out... Well it's good to start somewhere.

I carried on being good today with the food I had for breakfast.
Bananas and milk to make my own shake.
Then it's great to add colour to your diet so I had a sunny orange.

Carrying on this good work I brought myself a second hand bike, so I now have no excuses not to get out there. We shall see what happens.

This is what I'm gonna keep in my head.

There were surprises so far in the World Cup with holland beating Spain 5-1 well done to the Dutch, that was unexpected event. Now today, it's the big match for England as they play against Italy, and we need to go in hard to win this game. I'm staying up tonight to watch this match, might have a sleep before hand to make sure I can stay awake as it starts at 11pm.
England needs to make many more chances, we have got a younger team taking on Italy. let's hope the boys can do us proud.

Come on England!

Day two of the World Cup

Hello,

We are into day two of the World Cup, I'm not going to post about football everyday, but I'm watching my second football match of the week, Spain vs holland. I'm enjoying the match so far, and laughing at a footballer who couldn't undo his laces to but his boot back on.
Anyway, while trying to get my work colleagues in the mood of the World Cup, I told them a few World Cup facts. Now I work mostly with women, the only men are the delivery drivers, so I didn't get much conversation out of them as they don't enjoy football, plus most won't even watch a single match of this World Cup, let alone any other World Cup. However moi still in the spirt of football and looked up random facts about the World Cup past. Therefore I'm gonna share a few with you, girls just in case you get put in the situation where you need to talk football.

1. The first two countries to ever play each other in an international match was England vs Scotland, played in 1872 in Glasgow. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

2. The first World Cup event (FIFA) was played in Uruguay and was own by the host nation. Beating Argentina in the final. This was the first international tournament outside of the Olympics.

3. There have been a total of 19 world cups tournaments, won by eight different national teams.

4. This years host nation have won the the tournament five times, the most overall. Second is Italy who have own four times. Next west Germany with three wins. Uruguay and Argentina both have two wins, then Engalnd, France and Spain all have one win to their names.

5. The events has been held every four years since the tournament in 1930, however no tournament was held in 1942 and 1946 due to the Second World War.

There are few helpful little facts to drop in while the football is playing.

Enjoy the footie, I'll be watching it too.

First day of the World Cup

Hey,

It happens very four years, yes a leap year, but that's not what I'm talking about, the football World Cup. It's the time football fans and sometimes football fans stand up behind their country to cheer their team on to win.
Now I'm a girl from a football family, and had no choice growing up to be involved in football. I have an older brother who played it every weekend, which from a young age I was dragged (yes some days dragged) to watch and support his team, whether it sunshine, the bitter cold or that nasty rain we get here in the uk. I would wake up Sunday morning hoping for rain, so my parents would get a call that the match had been called off! Not just having a brother mad about football I also have a father who is mad about football, well my brother had to inherit it from somewhere. Plus I had more football in this house hold as my dad ran his own football team! I remember the days hanging out all the shirts to dry after all the mud and other dirt had been removed from them in the washing machine.
Now I'm not just telling you all of this for no reason, I'm trying to hope you will understand why I love football too. To support a team you have no influence in, but love anyway... Even when they are playing like little girls! Therefore when the World Cup comes around like it does every four years, I can't but help get caught up in all the excitement and joy it brings. Where as many girls I know, will be moaning about their boyfriends taking up the couch and the large tv, or taking evenings down the pub, I'll be one of them girls who will be checking her phone for the up dates of the scores, working out how many points each team needs to get through, plus hoping that England doesn't come down to penalty's with anyone!!! I don't enjoy watching tv from behind a cushion.
Now girls listen up, sit back and enjoy the football as it will pass, let your man watch the footie, if you don't like it go out with your friends, enjoy the quiet places that don't show football, such as the cinema, it's only 31 days of your life you have to give up.... Plus who doesn't enjoy watching men run around in shorts?
Anyway, I'll be watching the show, seeing all the highs and lows of the World Cup, plus cheering on my own country dreaming they will be bring back the Trophy! Let the games begin!

A present for my mother

Hey,

It's my mums birthday last month, and I had been thinking about what I could get her. In the end after looking at many different ideas, I decided to make her a gift hamper full of goodies.
It includes a magazine, bubble bath, a DVD, gift voucher, a jar of chocolate coffee, a gift voucher, make up, plus a jar I put together full of Licorice (which is my mum's favourite).

I had this jar left over, so I filled it with Licorice and decorated it with ribbon and a message saying "eat me, enjoy".

Now I just hope she likes it all.
