Nail art

Evening everyone,

I posted yesterday and I've just seen my blog views... Wow! 65 people had a look at my little blog, that's the most (I think) I've had in one day.

Well tonight I thought I'd share with some nail art I was trying out recently. Now the evenings are getting dark, I'll be sending more time at home, hopefully getting the 100 and 1 job done that need doing, or finding something else to distract me with. Well I love painting my nails, so when I found these nail art balls I had to give them a go!
Picked these ones up from my local BnM but you can get them from many different beauty shops now, and I've found some in a set in Topshop too.
I only did my little nail to create some texture, but thought it looked pretty on it only. Just to warn you make sure you pour the balls over a bowl to catch any that don't stick or they go everywhere!!!

I must admit my mum thought they looked like hundreds and Thousands. I going to do this again for my next girly night out.

From something old into something new

Afternoon,

Two weeks ago, my dad and I popped out to a few local shops. We went looking round some of the second hand and charity shops, he's after a certain cabinet he's hoping to find... He still hasn't found it yet. However I did find what I was looking for!!
As you maybe able to tell from my many blog post I love creating craft stuff, from cards to present. With all this stuff to make I need somewhere to keep it all, at the mo it's been stored in plastic boxes and draw, they don't look very pretty. Therefore I was keeping my eyes open for a nice look set of draw or Cupboard.
It had a few marks and scratches across it, but was the prefect size for what I wanted! All I needed to do was clean it up and give it a new paint job.

This is my finished unit! I love it!! Perfect for its job of storage.
I brought some new handles from home base and was lucky as these were the last in stock (lucky me).
The flowers make a pretty addition.

I'm now keeping my eyes open for the next task!

Enjoy your week

Homemade message board

Hello everyone!!!

Where does time go?? I wish I knew, however last week I was asked to make a message board for a friend. She had some materials she wanted using, so over two nights I created the design. It's cheep and quick to make.

All you need is:
Some wood as a backing
Wading or foam
Some pretty materials
Ribbons
Buttons
And... A staple gun!

Now be careful creating this design, all Fingers away from the staple gun!

The finished design:

Hanging on the wall, all ready for plenty of notes and photos to be added.

These are a great idea as presents, quick and cheap to make. A fab idea for Christmas! One year I did make these for my friends, they love them!

Enjoy your week,

My new nail polishes from Barry M

Afternoon,

I posted recently that Barry M have a brought out a new range of nail varnishes, so I had to go buy myself one.. Or two! I went along to super drugs to find out what stock they had in.

Here's what I brought:
A I'd spent over a certain amount I also got a free mascara! - Always love free do me!

I've tried it once so far and I'm very please with it, think it may become my new everyday!

I've tried two of the polishes so far:
Love this and lasted really well with me being at work, and I spend my day with my hands in and out of water, normally everything chips really quick.

I didn't quite do this right, as when you apply a top coat it changes the colour, I should of created a pattern... I'll show you that when I do it!

Now I'm off to paint my nails again...

New jewellery from online store Buttonsy

Hello,

I recently found a great jewellery site via Facebook, it was shared by a friend of mine and I fell in love with their designs... But when I found a cute rabbit necklace I knew I had to have one!!! The first time I tried it was out of stock, but when it reappeared I acted quickly to order one.
It arrived packaged lovely in a small brown box, with a maoam which I've enjoyed.
Inside is my cute necklace, I love the green stuffing it looks like grass, (Back to my necklace) it's a cute bunny which reminds me of a sylvanian (which I loved as a child), inside with the bunny is grass and a little cloud. It's a different design not one I'd find on the high street.

The company is small, and are working on a website, but they show plenty of their work on Facebook which you can request to buy. You can pay via PayPal which is helpful. Check them out: www.facebook.com/Buttonsy

I can wait to wear this out and about to show it off!

Is October too early to think about Christmas presents??

Hellllloooooo,

It only 79 days till Christmas!!! Dam, where does the time go?? Before you know it, Christmas will be here...  I don't wanna wish it away but it happens. Therefore I've already got my thinking hat on what to get my friends and family for Christmas, and this year I'm on a tight budget due to many reasons. With this in mind ice decided to make many presents for people, giving it all the personal touch. Pinterest has been get for me to find ideas... I'm in love with all the different designs. I'm going to start making this month to give me plenty of time, I'll share with you all the designs I make... If they go right and even if they go wrong!!!

So far I've thinking of making some calendars, I've got some templates that I brought last year, and they will be perfect!

I'm going to use the flap book for my friends birthday, by adding pictures to create a great present... Watch this space!

Enjoy your week,

A wedding gift

Hey all,

I was looking through some pictures I've got on my photo and then looked at my blog posts, I notice I never shared with you what my friend and I brought our friends as their wedding present!! We didn't know what to get them, they are already living together, work full time and have most stuff they want anyway.... Therefore I know they are looking to buy a new house in the future so we thought we'd buy them some useful gifts towards their new home.
Included is: his and hers champagne glasses, yours and mine mugs, cutlery set, towel set, coasters, body candy (something cheeky), a memory box, bottle of bubbly, confetti bottle, and two signs. Plus not in the basket due to the size, a beautiful photo of the bride and groom on their wedding day. We also fill the basket with little sunflowers as that was a theme in the wedding.

Their faces were perfect... They didn't expect it at.
They both loved it all!!

I love to dance!

Hey,

If you look back through my blog there are earlier posts about how much I love ballet and going to watch the ballet. Well last year I brought myself new pair of point shoes from freed in London. I haven't been able to use them until now, due to (1) being  unfit, and (2) they needed the front and ribbons stitching. After asking my mother many times, she finally spent time doing for me. Yay!! Now all I've got to do is work them to my feet, in other words build up my muscles and get used to using the shoes. I used to do point work when I was 15, I loved it. But when I gave up my shoes were getting too small and as I didn't have a class I could attended I didn't bother buying another pair till now.
Therefore if you hear that I've hurt myself you will know why!!

Just look how pretty they are!!

{Book Review} About a Girl

Morning all,

These last few months have been really busy for me, which I've loved, however I haven't found time to even think about reading a book! But I knew Lindsey Kelk had a new book out and as always I wanted it. When my friend asked me what I wanted for my birthday I sad the book as it came out a few weeks better.. Which did mean I had to wait to read it, but life made sure I waited even longer! Therefore when the weather change to being a wet in September, and the evenings started getting darker, I knew it was book time!! (Yay)

Blurb Reads:
I'd lost my job. I'd lost the love of my life.
My best friend was epically annoyed.
And my flatmate probably had a hit
out on me by now.

Tess Brookes has always been a Girl with a Plan. But when
the Plan goes belly up, she's forced to reconsider.

After accidently answering her flatmate Vanessa's phone, she
decides that since Tess isn't going so well, she might
try being Vanessa. With nothing left to lose, she accepts
Vanessa's photography assignment to Hawaii - she used to
be an amateur snapper, how hard can it be?

But Tess is soon in big trouble. And the gorgeous journalist on
the shoot with her, who is making it very clear he'd like to get
into her pants, is an egotistical monster. Far from home and
in someone else's shoes, Tess must decide whether to fight
on through, or 'fess up and run...

Totally a girls book about a girl who is stuck in her life. Like Tess we all need a change, but when life throws it in your face a reaction is all you can do. Tess was all work, it was her life, so with it taken away shes lost what to do next. I bet many people would be the same, so with an opportunity to run away from it all, Tess grabs it... Hawaii sounds like a great place to rethink your life to me. Getting so far from home and pretending to be someone else, Tess is able to rethink what she wants, but at the same time get into more trouble! This book will have you laughing, Lindsey Kelk is great at adding humour in all of her books, I think that's why they are so easy to pick up.

I hope you enjoy it too, let me know what you think. I can't wait for more from Lindsey soon... I do know she's working on a new addition to the "I heart series, due to be released near Christmas.

Enjoy your week,

Love Lolly

A New Month... New Ideas!

Hello 1st October!

September was a busy month, but I still enjoyed all the goings on. But October we need to step it up a gear, so therefore I'm going to make list of ideas I want to do this month!

  1. Sort out my wardrobe! - yes winter is on its way, so I think i need to update it all and sort through what I've got and see what i can throw out! I love clothes, shoes, handbags, jewellery, you know all the girly stuff. I've got so many dresses... some which haven't been worn. Therefore I need to spend one day (If that's enough) to see what i need and what i can either sell or give to a charity shop.
  2. Read More - I love books, but i haven't had much chance to read due to work over taking my life. I've got a selection on a shelf just waiting to be read... the question is, which one first??
  3. Stand Up for myself more! - I'm a bit of a push over when it comes to my friends and family, doing more stuff for them than myself... I love my family and friends so I do want to spend more time with them, but I have to remember to put myself first! This might mean not saying yes to something when i need to say no, i need to do this more at work too! I always end up doing stuff and taking on too much than I can handle.
  4. Search for my dream job - I do enjoy my job, but I've been there 9 years this month! That seems long, I started when I was 15 and still in school. I think I'm at the time when I want a change... This might not happen now, but there is no harm in thinking what i want out of life. I'd love to be a actress, and been looking at way to do it on the side, even for fun. But also I love reading books and have many stories of my own building up in my head, that may be is should write/type down. Hopeful this month I can start writing.
  5. Eat more healthy - I love junk food, but i also eat when I'm hungry... I can't wait for food, therefore I quick easy food, which isn't always healthy! I'm naughty when it comes to sweets, chocolates and cake... like most people, therefore I need to eat more fruit and Veg.
  6. Get fit - Now this is one that's been on my list for months! I love the idea of working out, but I'm a bit lazy.. I need to change that.
  7. Try and save - I'm thinking about changing my car after Christmas, its getting on a bit. I want to save some money to get another car that can last me quite a while. But I also want to save for myself, I still live at home, therefore I don't have many bill, but I'm still good at spending money. I just need to get a better grip on this.
Well that's my list to start the month... I don't know how much I will do, but will try and do most of them. To have a change in life you must make the change yourself.

Enjoy October and make the most of it!
