Theatre - Legally Blonde The Musical

Dear Friends,

So in under an hour it shall be my birthday (At the time of writing this!), I will be yet another year older, it happens to all of us and there is no stopping it so I know I might as well enjoy it. Lucky me, my beautiful and wonderful friends took me to Milton Keynes Theatre to see "Legally Blonde The Musical" with a little hint from me *Smile*.
We had a meal before hand at one of the lovely restaurants, then were ready to watch the show... Yes I wore pink shoes! Well, my pink dress was in the wash. Our seats in the stalls had a perfect view of the stage for the show. Now I have seen the film and loved it, (A perfect girly film) so I knew what the story line was all about, but in the film there wasn't much any singing or dancing therefore I was really looking forward to seeing how they created the same atmosphere the film does. There was no disappointment!!! WOW! You really felt you were apart of the show, starting with watching all the craziness of Elle and her friends in their dorm, where they are preparing for Elle's boyfriend to engage to her. The excitement on stage had you dancing in your seat. However, when Elle's boyfriend Warner (Played by Gareth Gates, Yes the guy from Pop Idol) breaks up with her instead, her attitude to school work changes. She feels that she needs to get into Harvard University, on their Law course so she can impress Warner and win him back. We get to be involed in all the fun of Elle finding out being blonde is more than just a hair colour, because she is much more than that!
The songs in this show will have you smiling and singing along too, (I was singing them on my way back to the car after the show). The humor in the show is what makes it! You will be laughing and giggling along with all the characters and Elle's way of life. When the delivery man turns up to Paulette salon, I was in fits of laughter! I just wish some of the guys that deliver to my work looked so yummy! By the way for my friend Shakira he was in an UPS work uniform!! haha.
If you get chance to see this show while it is touring this year, either in Milton Keynes or another theatre coming to you GO SEE IT!! Such a wonderful performance by all involed and lovely to see Jennifer Ellison as Paulette, she had me laughing. But the lead who played Elle Woods was wonderful, you could be mistaken to thinking you were watching Reese Witherspoon who stars as Elle in the film.

Thank you so much to the girls for taking me to see this fun Musical!

The Girls and I after the show!!

Had such a wonderful night, Thanks again,

Love Lolly

My phone

Dear phone lovers,

Last month I decided that I needed to update my phone as my 3gs was becoming a bit slow, and my contract had been up over a year (I've been on a rolling contract), therefore with a new iphone 4s I need some new cases, to make it look lovely and pretty! A quick search on amazon and I found plenty of fun designs.
I wanted it to stand out - Mainly so I could find it in my bag! Here's the two I brought! Also some protective plastic screen covers.
My fun cases!
The game boy looks like the one my brother had when he was little and
the tape is just so cool!

With these new cases I shouldn't lose them so easily in my bag! They were also very cheap, come in under £3 each!  I've also ordered another one, which should be arriving soon so I'll have plenty of choice for my iphone.

Enjoy your week,

Love Lolly

Book review - "Baby Proof" by Emily Giffin

Dear Ladies,

Yes I have another book for you. From an author I have already blogged about, I though I'd share with you another one of her lovely books.
The Blurb reads:
First comes love, Then comes Marriage.
Then... What?

Claudia and Ben seem perfect for each other.
Ever since their first date, when they discovered
that neither saw children in their future, their
relationship seemed destined to succeed. They fell
in love and got married, envisaging a life of
freedom, exploration and possibility...

But when one of their friends gets pregnant,
Ben suddenly has a different future in mind.
He realises he does want children, after all. And
Claudia must decide what she wants most in
life, and what she is prepared to lose...

A terrific story about a woman who doesn't fit the mold of most. Another gripping story by Emily Giffin the author of Something Borrow and Something Blue. I do hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
I shall keep sharing books with you, till next time.

Crafts - wedding and birthday cards

Hello,

On Tuesday I had a short trip to one of my local craft shops. I was on a mission to get some lettering for some cards I had already made, however once in side this shop I always find other items that I'm interested in. I've picked up some items to try, including make your own jewellery so watch this space!! But going back to to my mission!! I really needed some wording to go on some wedding cards I had created, I really needed silver however in most of the shops I had already search I could only find Gold...always the way. Well luckily the shop had some in silver but also some other wording which i thought worked better.

These have been made for weddings that are happening
this summer one the end of this month.
The mini is a special for a friend who has one for their car.
The other is done in the colours of the wedding.

Here's the other bits I picked up. Most only £1 each!!
Stamps - These were £1 each and perfect for
creating cards over and over again.
PS I love bunnies

Wooden stamps - £1 each
getting ready for Christmas with these.

Two different coloured ribbons - £1 each
Thank you in English and German.
Pretty and great for adding something different to a card.

I've been busy making some new cards for birthdays.
Here's just a few:
Pretty cat card. Disney Princesses 3D card.

Three cup cake cards all 3D.
So yummy that you could eat them!

As I had a bit of time yesterday I decide to do a bit of baking, I tired out a new chocolate brownie recipe given to me by a friend.
They were all yummy! My work colleagues agreed!

You can see I've been busy the last few days, but I know I've got plenty more cards to make. I hope you liked these.

Book review - "Something Blue" By Emily Giffin

Dear Ladies,

A few weeks ago I posted about a book called "Something Borrowed" so I hope you all enjoyed that post and the book, I said I would tell you all about the follow up book, so here it is. "Something Blue" is Darcy's side to the story, it starts where the last one finished off.

The Blurb reads:
Thirty, successful and stunning, Darcy Rhone used to think that
'being down and out' meant not finding a size four at the Barney's
Warehouse sale. Now she is pregnant, unmarried, recovering from a
series of break-ups and, for the first time in her life, completely alone.
Frantically casting around for help, she persuades an old high
school friend to let her stay with him in London for a few weeks. Little
does she know what she's in for when she boards the plane, but as
weeks turn into months, Darcy makes a surprising discovery.
Preparing for motherhood and setting into a new city, she
builds herself a new life from scratch, finally finding romance -
in the most unexpected place...

The girl that has had it all, now doesn't have anything! You want to hate Darcy, and from reading "Something Borrowed" you don't really see much good in her. But we all know what its like when something doesn't go our way, well Darcy is only just learning that life can be like this. This is a fun read, we all know what its like to grow up, and Darcy is already thirty but she now going to have to grow up fast as she is pregnant. The book takes you away from New York, the setting for the last book, to another big city, London.

If you read "Something Borrowed" you'll love this book, to find out what happened to all the character we got so close with in the last book. All though this is based on Darcy, old character Rachel and Dex are mentioned, we hear where their lives take them.

I hope you enjoy this book, and can make room in your suit case for it too.

review - Barry M Magnetic nail polish

Dear Ladies,

While flicking through my favourite magazine last week, I saw an advert for the new Barry M nail polish and on saturday I was passing a shop that sold them I thought I'd pop in and see if any were in store. Lucky me, they did! I had a choice between blue, purple or black. There are four in the full collection, Pink was missing. I decided to go with blue as I have plenty in my wardrobe that would go nicely with it.
Magnetic Blue

The cap in in two, so you have the magnet part and also the normal nail polish lid. The instructions tell you to:
  1. shake well first (To make sure the colour is looking fresh).
  2. Apply one base coat and let the colour dry. Then get ready for the magic!!
  3. Apply second coat and immediately hover the magnet over nail for 5 seconds so the effect appears.
  4. When dry add top coat.
The lid where the magnet is has a small edge that easily sits over your nail, making it easy to hold. The effect works immediately and comes out different each time. This is my first time of using this and I found it very simple to use and quick! The effect is pretty on the nail but interesting. I'm looking forward to showing my nails off and getting more colours.
From what I have heard each magnet on the different colours creates a different pattern, so I'm excited to see what happens with the others.
Priced at £4.99 in Superdrug I didn't think was to bad a price, the liquid is quite smooth and dried quickly. The collection is also available at Larger boots stores.

Let me know how you get on if you get this product too.

Film Review - The Amazing Spider Man

Dear Readers,

As the weather still hasn't improved, there was only one thing for it yesterday... A trip to the cinema! The latest film out that I wanted to enjoy, the new spider man film! Now I had enjoyed the last collection of films but was still excited to see them remade as the effects available now a days has improved so much.

Now when a film is remade, you can be a bit worried that they will ruin it, however they have just made a good film AMAZING!!! If you were thinking about seeing this film it is so worth it! There is humour, a love story, good vs evil and Andrew Garfield looking HOT!!
The story is retold from the beginning, how Peter Parker losses his family and comes to live with his uncle and aunt. Also we get to see what Peter Parker is like a normal kid at school to when he gets bitten by a Spider (Yep that's in there) and how if effects him. I like this part, it feels more real, much more fun to watch too. Andrew Garfield plays the part perfectly, feeling like a true super hero. The villain of this film is "The Lizard" played by Rhys Ifans, (Yeah the guy from Notting Hill). Normally he is Dr Curt Connors, an old friend of Peters dad. Peter befriends him, as he is a link to Peters Dad, the one person he wants to know more about. It great to see how the Dr Connors turns into the bad guy, by only wanting to heal himself... I'll keep that short as I don't wanna spoil it. Moving on to the addition of Gwen Stacy played by Emma Stone, who works well as the love interest, you can see the sparks in the air between the characters (PS I've heard she dating Andrew Garfield in real life). Not only does she look beautiful but she does have brains too.

Overall its an impressive film, with loads of effects and actions, although the film will leaving you wanting more... waiting to see if there is another film in this franchise (Which I think there will be)

Speak to you soon,

book review - "I heart Hollywood" and "I heart Paris"

Dear Book lovers,

I recently posted about a set of booked by Lindsey Kelk called "I heart" starting with "I heart New York". I was waiting for the 5th book in the series to arrive on my door step, which it did and I have finished reading it already. So instead of skipping to this latest book, I thought I'd tell you all about the second and third books:

  I Heart Hollywood
The Blurb reads:
Angela Clark can't believe her
luck... she's living in New York with
a dream job and a sexy boyfriend.

Sent to Hollywood to interview hot actor and fellow
Brit James Jacobs, she's in at the deep end amid the thin and
beautiful Rodeo Drive. The only person who seems
genuine is James, despite his ladykiller reputation. But then
the paparazzi catch them together at Chateau Marmont, and
Angela finds herself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons...

Can she convince her boss, her best friend and - most
importantly - her boyfriend not to believe all they read in the
papers? And will Hollywood ever Angela's heart?

This is another fun story and the next step in Angela's adventures across the pond. You will be wondering how this girl gets herself into these situations but at the same time having you glad she did so you can enjoy it all. Hollywood is a place that I would like to visit so reading it from a Brits point of view is enjoyable. Celebrities and scandals always make a good read, and a perfect follow on to "I Heart New York" which will have you hearting this book and more.

With that book read, you will be wanting to move on to the next!!! I know I did...

I heart Paris
The blurb reads:
Angela is in the city of love -
but romance is taking a nose-dive...

When Angela Clark's boyfriend Alex suggests a trip to Paris at
the same time as hip fashion mag Belle ask her to write a piece,
she jumps at the chance.

But even as she's falling for the joie de vivre of Paris, someone's
conspiring to sabotage her big break. And when she spots Alex having
a tete-a-tete with his ex in a local bar, Angela's dreams of Parisian
passion all start crashing down around her.

With London and her old life only a train journey away, Angela can't
decide if she should stay and face the music or run away home...

Angela's story continues with this beautiful book, she still as fun as ever and now she's made it to Paris. However nothing ever goes to plan as Angela knows too well. However dealing with these crises makes us who we are, the only thing is can Angela deal with anymore. You will be wondering what would you do? There are plenty of surprises and laughs which will leaving you feeling warm and happy inside! Paris is a beautiful City and this is a divine book to tell you all about Angela's adventure there.

I'll tell you more about the next two books soon, but for now enjoy these!!

Good deeds

Hiya people,

Yesterday as I was getting ready for an early night there was a knock at my front door. A young lad was there asking if I had lost a rabbit as he had found one running round the road near my house. Now as my friends know I own two beautiful girl bunnies, however I knew they were locked up in their cages as my brother had just feed them. I let the lad know it wasn't mine but I'd help him catch it. Two of my other neighbours were in the road and they thought it was mine. The cute little rabbit was hiding under a van in our road. By the way our road is filled with parked cars, but isn't busy for traffic. I slowly walked up to the rabbit and was able to catch him. He tired to jump and scratch me to get away, but I'm used to these trick as I've had rabbits for years, therefore I held on tightly and took him back to my house. My brother ran to get the carry case so we had somewhere to keep him.
The problem we had was who's was he? It was just after 10 and I live on a quiet street so I didn't really want to wake people up as most houses seemed to be in darkness. I tired the house just over the road as they were new with children, however he didn't belong to them. Next I tired a few door in the other direction from my house as I knew they had children, with out any luck. The little guy didn't belong to them either and they didn't know where he might of come from.
With it getting later and my brother having an early flight in the morning with thought we'd better head home. Still in the carry case, we added a bowl of food and water, popped him in our garage to keep him warm and headed to bed.
This morning, I check he was OK, and gave him a nice carrot. I couldn't go searching for his owner just yet as I had to run my bro to the airport. When I arrived home after lunch, I got to work finding this little rabbits home! Bless him he was cutie and so friendly. My first thought was to put a notice in the local shop, so I got my lap top out after checking he was still happy in his temporary home (also checking my own were happy as the weather was wet and my little bunny hates the rain) I created a little poster.
I was just finished and about to print when the door bell went. I answered the door and a man stood there looking a little worried. He had been to the house across the way look for a rabbit and the family had sent him to my house. I told him I had him, a little grey bunny safe in my garden. The guy followed me and looked so relieved to see the little guy I knew it had to be his. The guy only lived up the road and didn't realise the bunny had escaped till this morning, and his daughter was upset. He thanked me, and I let take him in the carry case as I knew it would be easier, he said he would bring the case right back. With in 5 minutes the door bell went and the guy was standing there with an empty carry case and a box of chocolates as a thank you!
Good deeds can put the smile back on someones face, and by helping other make you feel like helping more. Plus I gained a box of chocolates!!

How cute was this lost bunny.

So film tonight and chocolate sounds good!!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend.

My theatre trip "Stomp"

Hello,

This Sunday just gone I headed to London with some friends to see the performance of "Stomp". We had pre booked tickets which also included dinner at Planet Hollywood before the show. Therefore we decided to get to London early so we could spend some time sight seeing, a little bit of shopping, but also drinking cocktails!!
When we got to London we headed straight to sort out our tickets and when there got a free upgrade to better seats! (How nice) The theatre , Ambassadors Theatre, isn't to far away from Leicester Square where we wanted to have a look around as the area had been recently renovated. Now I love the cinema's around here, where some premiere's are held (Or used to be) this place always feels like London to me. We headed to one of the bars round this area for some cocktails!! Chips were also needed as a snack to keep us going till dinner, as it was just past lunch. The weather wasn't to bad so we sat outside enjoying people watching.
By the way I was wearing one of my new Boohoo.com dresses!!

While sitting as this bar my friends and I noticed a lot of Canadian flags and wondered what was going on. My mates BF just wanted to know where they were getting the beer from. Not far from Leicester Square is Trafalgar Square, where we found everything happening as it turned out it was Canada Day!!
They were playing ice hockey!!

After visiting Canada Day, we went to a few other places in London including Covent Garden, before heading to dinner at Planet Hollywood. Now I've never been to this restaurant so we were interested to see what it was like inside as well as what the food tasted like! The moment you walk in you are surrounded by items from famous Movies! We were seated next to items from the Indiana Jones films!

There was a set meal, which was part of our theatre deal and we only had to buy drinks. I decided to leave the alcohol alone while enjoying my food so went for a smoothies named Princess Diaries - which my friends decided was perfect for me...I still wonder why?

The Cocktails has some cool names too, including Hellboy, Terminator, Legally Blonde and Iron Man which said you'll love the special effects!
When dinner was finished my friend and I made a quick trip to the loo, while there we found celebrities had hand prints on the wall which they had signed. My hands are the same size as Demi Moore!!

With time before the show started we went for a walk by the river Thames to enjoy the view, we were lucky it wasn't raining. Then on to the Theatre!
With our upgraded tickets we were seated in the circle with a great view of the show. The was no interval in the performance so we had made sure we had sweets and drinks before hand. The show started with one guy on the stage with a broom, sweeping the floor and making a small tap every now and then with the broom, creating a beat. Soon more and more people started to appear on the stage with brooms creating a rhythm to the beat. Adding in feet taps and also swapping their brooms with others. You could see everyone was doing something a bit different drawing your eye to all the members of casts, listening to the sounds and beat they were creating. It was fascinating to watch them take a normal object and create such a wonderful tune. They used many different items through out the show, from cans, pipes to newspapers. The newspapers were my favourite, had me laughing out loud at the cast. You wouldn't think how noise a person could be. There was audience involvement, with clapping along to the beat and copying their rhythm - which wasn't as easy as it looked at times.
This is a fun and creative show, which will having you tapping all the way home (I know I was). The whole family can enjoy this performance, you will be seeing objects in different ways to make noise!!

I had such a great day on Sunday and have to say a BIG THANK YOU to my friend Claire who sorted the tickets out. We will have to book another show in London soon.

Book Review - "A Bend in the Road" Nicholas Sparks

Dear people,

I've selected another book for you all to enjoy. This book was brought for by a friends for my birthday a few years ago, she knew how much I loved the film A Walk to Remember so gave me a book by the same author. The only hint she did give with the book was to have my tissues handy.

The Blurb reads:
Miles Ryan's life seemed to end the day his wife was killed in
a hit-and-run accident two years ago. As deputy sheriff of
New Bern, North Carolina, he not only grieves for her and
worries about their young son Jonah but longs to bring the
unknown driver to justice. Then Miles meets Sarah Andrews,
from a difficult divorce, Sarah moved to New Bern hoping
to start over. Tentatively, Mile and Sarah reach out to each
other... soon they are falling in love. But what neither realizes
is that they are also bound together but a shocking secret
one that will force them to reexamine everything they believe
in - including their love.

Such a wonderful read, so sweet and uplifting. You know its hard to move on when someone close to you dies, for Miles all he wants is answers. The story flows so smoothly, you will be turning pages before you know it. I'm so glad I had been pre warned about the tissue, because they are defiantly needed.

Let me know what you think of this story,
