Hey!!

I found some more picture of cards i made, that i forgot to share with you all, Sorry.
Here they are:
My mum's friend had twins recently two gorgeous little boys.
The elephants are made from a stamp i have, i just coloured them in to look different.

Book Review - "Allegiant"

Hey,

I've reviewed the first two books in this series so i had to tell you about this one too! It is the last book in the series, of the story of Tris.

The Blurb reads:
"What if a single revelation - like a single choice - changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered - fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she's known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled with loyalties.

But Tris's new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truth change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to compete hand the complexities of human nature - and of herself - while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiances, sacrifice and love."

This story is told from dual perspective, from the oringal character Tris and now from Tobis (Four), you get to see how he feels about the life they are walking into away from the city they both have grown up in and have been hurt by. But what they find on the outside isn't what they both expected. Plus old faces who they thought was lost appear... Leaving many more questions to their world. Divergents are what they have been looking for, Tris is their main aim, however when her friends don't fit in a split appears around the once tight friendly group. How would you feel if you were told there was something wrong with you, that your whole life has been a lie, the only world you know has been a lie. Tris and Tobias must be strong together when everything is ready to tear them apart. Each knows they have a place in this new world, but can't forget the one they have left behind, but won't stop fighting for the one they have known.

This book changes from character, giving you more of as view into the new world they are in, but I feel the story isn't as strong as the first two. I'm also a little sad to how the story ends, I don't want to give anything away but I wished for a different furturer for the couple I have fallen for, their story and their life. However it is always a choice we get to make, so in keeping with the book, as you go on into your future...Be brave....

birthday present gift

Helllooooo,

It was my friends birthday a few weeks ago, i know i'm late sharing this with you, but better late then never.
I got my friend a cute bracelet but wanted something to put it in, so i decorated up a little heart wooden box i had.
The top is a bright pink.

The sides are a light pink.

As it was her 25th i wanted to make her something a little bit special. For her 18th when we were younger i made her a photo album that she could take to uni.
Therefore I made another little book of pictures for her.

This isn't the finished design and I don't have a photo of the finished design,
but you get the idea of what i made. In her finished one, i put in some writing
and more little cup cakes plus other little 3D items.

Don't worry she love it all... I'm so glad!
Overall i was a great little gift that i know no-one else who get her. Plus i think homemade gifts give that little bit extra, and are special.

Book review - "Insurgent"

Hey,

So I recently told you about a book I read called "Divergent" well I also read the second book in the trilogy called "Insurgent".

The blurb reads:

"Tris has survived a brutal attack on her former home
and family. But she has paid a terrible price.
Wracked by grief and guilt, she becomes ever more
reckless as she struggles to accept her new future.

Yet if Tris wants to uncover the truth about her
world, she must be stronger than ever... Because
more shocking choices and sacrifice lie ahead. "

This book carries straight on from "Divergent" I think there is only a couple of hours that have past between the books, which mean you know everyone from one book to the next.... Tris has already lost so much, with both of her parents gone, she shot one of her best friends, is teamed with her worse enemy Peter and her boyfriends worse enemy his father, she doesn't know what is going to happen next. Her whole world has changed, she doesn't know whats going to happen next, all she know is that she has got Tobias, however with secrets between them how long before they fall apart too. Tris faces more choices within a world that is falling apart. She knows she must stand up and fight against Jeannie, but who else should she fight against or with. Her friends might see her in a different light if they know she killed on of their friends.
Overall this is great book to follow "Divergent" bring more questions to the world in which Tris lives. The love story between her and Tobias keeps you wishing that they can have time for themselves in a world that doesn't know which way to turn.

Afternoon Tea at Woburn

Evening,

Earlier this week it was my friends birthday, due to it being mid week and everyone working we decided to celebrate it this weekend. My friend had the choice at what she wanted to do, therefore we went to Woburn in Bedfordshire for Afternoon Tea at Woburn Abbey in The Duchess Tea room. We were treated to a table layer out for us, we were given a choice of tea's which included many different fruit tea, early grey, plus coffee and hot chocolate. With our choices made, the cakes and sandwiches were brought out.
Our table near the window
Two of my friends, Chrissie (on the left) and Cassie (on the right)
Moi (on the left) and the birthday girl Claire (on the right)
Moi with the selection of cakes and sandwiches.
Another view of the cakes.... By the way they were to share between two, before you think I was greedy and ate them all.
Moi trying to look lady like and drinking my hot chocolate.
By having booked our afternoon tea, we also got free entry to look around the gardens, they are very beautiful even this early on in the year, however it was very cold so we didn't stay long looking at them all.

I had to take a picture of the snow drops as they were so pretty.

All in all it was a lovely day spend with some of my lovely friends, and I'm thinking of taking my mum for Mother's Day next month.

I hope you have had a good weekend too,

Last nights theatre trip to see "Wicked"

Hey everyone!!!

Last night I took my parents (made them!) to our local theatre which is Milton Keynes to see the musical "Wicked". The story is based on the novel "Wicked: The life and Times of the wicked witch of the west" and the 1939 film plus novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz". The musical tells the story of the two main witches, Elphaba (the wicked witch of the west) and Glinda (the good witch of the north) and their unlikely friendship. It's plot begins before and continues after Dorothy arrives in Oz. You find out the background of Elphaba's story, how she became green, plus you meet her sister who later becomes the wicked witch if the east. The story follows how Elphaba and Glinda become unlikely friends, who have opposite personalities, viewpoints and rivalry over the same love interest. They try to find their places in Oz, but find out that the all power wizard of Oz isn't all he seem. While one takes a stand with him, the other is cast out, following different futures into the story we all know and love. Songs keep the musical fast pace and engaging with the audience, with fun up beat songs like "Popular" to ones that will touch your heart, like "Defying Gravity".
It's a wonderful story, taking a twist on the classic story we know, making you understand more behind the wicked witches transformation into evil. The main song people may know is "Defying Gravity" which is my favourite... I had to keep my voice down so I didn't disburb other people around me. But it's always going to be a classic for me, and a very moving part to the story.

If you get chance to see this musical, you NEED to go see it! I'm just waiting to go see the musical again or a film to be made, for now I'll just have to listen to the sound track again, and again and again...

Enjoy your week,

Love Lolly

By the way, last night was my third time seeing the show, so I'm happy to go again.

Book review "Divergent"

Afternoon all,

I've had this book for a while as I heard a good review about it, but I've been short on time so I saved it for my holiday that I got back from last week... And it was worth it, cause I loved it!! It only took me a day to read... But that was because I couldn't put it down. ( I did read it again later in the week).

The blurb reads:
"Sixtheen-year-old Tris is forced to make a terrible
choice. I'm a divided society where everyone
must confirm, Tris does not fit.

So she ventures out alone, determined to discover
where she truly belongs. Shocked by her brutal new
life, Tris can trust no one. And yet she is dawn to
a boy who seems to both threaten and protect her.

The hardest choice lies ahead."

A beautiful story set in a future world in Chicago, USA. Where the city as taken an opportunity to help people with their future, divided to make people stay in their correct places. Tris is a young women who finds out she is different from what society wants her to be. Her choice is to try and fit in a tough part of society, which leads to many more oppositions than she first knew.
This book has the start of a beautiful love story, where Tris meets a young man who helps chance her life and help her understand who she truly is... So many twists and turns in this first part of a full pack trilogy.
I know I couldn't put it down and was so glad I had the second book in the series to hand, so I could carry it on!!

This book has been made into a film, so I'm excited to see how the story is developed. Plus how each character is portrayed.

Don't worry there are two more books out to enjoy as well! Yay

A decorated mug present

Hellloooo,

I've got a friends birthday coming up but I'm running short on cash... So I came up with an idea.
I had seen this idea quite a bit on Pinterest so thought I'd give it ago.
All you need is:
1 plain mug
1 sharpe pen

Write your message or draw a picture on the mug, then place the mug in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees (I made sure I had mine at the lower tempter for a longer time) then wash your mug and the writing should stay on.
I wrote her name on one side

And a nice quote on the other.
I also put a few kisses on the handle.
Plus added sweets and some hot chocolate packs inside for her to enjoy.

I'm going to wrap the mug in some cello I have and add a nice bow. I just hope she likes this.

Birthday cards - January

Hiya,
With the weather being so rubbish this month I've been keeping inside, there for I've had time to make some lovely cards for a few birthdays. Here's what I made:
I know this isn't a birthday card but a leaving card for someone I work with. I used a pretty stamp to make the flowers.
It's my dad's birthday this month and as he likes Gnomes in the garden, I thought this would be different from from the sport cards I normally make.
I thought this was a nice girly card, I'm not quite sure who it is for yet.
I love these cards, I think I'm going to make one soon with loads of balloons on it like the film up... Also I could put the persons age in the balloons.

With the weather staying this way... Wet! I'll be making many more cards soon.

Enjoy your week
