Hello June

Oh hello June, I've been waiting for you!!
Well this month I'm hoping for some sunshine, as well as some fun! I've got a few bits planned for this month, one of the main events is seeing The Foo Fighters at Wembley... One of my favourite bands, who I've already seen twice but so excited to see again, it's been two years too long.
Therefore to keep myself excited and everyone else in the know, I'm sharing lyrics from their songs every day till I get to see them!! Ahhhhh (just a little excited)

Here's today's song:

Well, I've met the seventh son
He came for everyone
The day he heard the lighting in the field
I heard him clear his throat
A fork within the road
That night the Tallacharchie took the wheel

I've been throwing knives
To see just where they land
Now my world is in your hands

Send in the congregation
Open your eyes, step in the light
A jukebox generation
Just as you were

This song is "Congregation" from their 2014 album "Sonic Highways

So it's 19 days and counting... Eeeekkkk

Jaffa cake chocolate brownies

Hello,

I've been busy the last few weeks experimenting with my baking, and came across a recipe for Jaffa cake brownies and knew I had to make these!!! Let's just say, they didn't disappoint.
Here's the recipe I used:

Ingredients
185g Unsalted butter (I used stork)
185g Dark chocolate
85g Plain flour
40g Cocoa powder
70g Milk chocolate chips
1 packet of Jaffa cakes (12 in a pack)
3 Eggs
275g Caster sugar (or a little less, which I did as the family are trying to eat less sugar and there is already a lot in this)

Method/Recipe

1. Cut the butter in to small chunks with the chocolate broken in to cubes into a medium size bowl (glass would be best, or one that won't melt). Fill a small saucepan with water quarter of a way, and pop in the bowl so it sit over the edge. Place on a low heat, to melt the butter and chocolate. Remove the bowl and place in the side to cool.

2. Preheat the oven at 180c/gas Mark 4 to preheat.

3.Break eggs into a large bowl, add the sugar then whisk while you get a creamy texture.

4. Pour in the cooled chocolate mixture over the eggs and sugar. Lightly whisk until the whole mixture becomes a mainly chocolate colour.

5. Add the flour, cocoa to the mixture. (Sieve the flour and cocoa if needed) lightly whisk, till the texture has become thicker.

6. Grease a large baking tray (I used one with a little depth). Line the trap with grease proof paper (make the brownies easier to get out of the tin). Add the Jaffa cakes across the tray, chocolate side up.

7. Pour the mixture over the Jaffa cakes. Covering the whole tray, and hiding the Jaffa cakes. Create a neat level, making sure you get all the mixture out of the bowl. Add the chocolate chips all over the top of the mixture.

8. Place in oven for 25 minutes.

9. After 25 minutes check how your brownies are getting on. Get the tray out and lightly shake to see if the mixture has set. If it moves, pop in for another 5 minutes. The top should have a papery shiny crust (I make sure mine is dark in colour, and not burnt)

10. Take the brownies out of the oven, and leave to cool on the side till the trap and brownies are completely cool. Then lift out of the tray and cut up in to the size you think best. I cut mine round each Jaffa cake.

11. Now enjoy!! Share if you must... Or hide and eat all!

Here's my Jaffa cake in the tray before the mixture poured on top.

Mixture in the tray and the chocolate chips sprinkled all over.

Then wait for it....

My brownies!!
These were enjoyed by my family and friends... Plus myself!
These can be enjoyed rewarmed with cream cream or spray cream. - might make them again and do this for a girly night in with friends.

Now go and make your own, let me know how yours turns out.

Friends 21st Birthday

Hey!!!
Last weekend it was a friends 21st birthday and she had a Hollywood glam theme party, with a movie playing in the back ground on a over screen projector, popcorn on the tables and a photo booth for us all to be crazy in.
It was a fun night to let our hair down and be silly, taking to the dance floor and showing off some moves.
Photo with the friends, birthday girl on the left.

Here is a picture with my friend who came to the party with me, posing in the photo booth. I think by this time we had had a few drinks, but still looked glam. My dress (I'm on the right in this photo) looks navy but is actually a nice shade of green, I added a peak necklace, had silver shoes on and swept my hair to one side, curled. I love the clap a loader in my hands, so wish I could work with one for real, waiting to hear... ACTION, on set of a film.... Dreams.

Anyway, I made a little present for my friend, as well as other bits I got her too.
Here's my materials:
I've made something like this before, but knew my friend would enjoy the funnels of it all.
21 lollies, for her to enjoy, then a sign just to remind her how old she has got (don't worry she's much younger than me!).
This is a cute design and cost effective to create, a nice added present to add to the few bits id already got her.

Plus a card hand made... Show casing 21 as you only turn this once in your life, got to enjoy it while it lasts.

On to the next birthday,

Love Lolly

Use your Vote

Hello People of the UK,

Today is election day in the UK, we get to decide which of the political parties we want representing us as a nation to better our future and lead the county. Overall its a big decision to make, to some people they believe no matter what they do they will feel no difference.

I feel that it is a confusing time, and are myself unsure of who I will vote for till I'm in the booth casting my vote, BUT I know i do need to cast my vote. On facebook today I wrote to my fellow facebook friends, encouraging they to use their vote in some way today. I wrote:

"I know we are all different and have our own points of view. But no matter how you feel today Britain you get to make a choice, I won't tell you who to vote for but that you must make a vote. Do it for who you believe will make this country work best for the many not the few.
If you feel like many that it won't matter, go to the polling station and put a massive cross through the paper work! Just exercise your right to VOTE! Many people across the world would love to be in the position you are today, but also many people in the past would also of loved to be able to VOTE. People died fighting for your right.
If you don't vote today, or even make an effort, don't moan that you Aren't happy with the out come, as you have a chance to make a difference. Don't get me wrong, i don't believe in everything the politicians are saying, and maybe they need to be managed better themselves, but with out your voice telling the country, no change will happen.

SO TODAY, and only today go do this one thing... VOTE.
It's the only change you get to make today."

I hope I've made a difference to someone today, and made them decide to go and place a vote today... If you haven't already, please go and vote.

Book review - "Always the Bridesmaid" by Lindesy Kelk

Hey Everyone,

It's been a while since I posted on my blog, and I really need to get back into it, as I've missed it so much. Well after reading this book I knew I had to share it with you.
"Always the bridesmaid" is the fun new book by Lindsey Kelk, OUT TODAY 7th May.

When you are asked to be your friends bridesmaid it's meant to an exciting time, but for Maddie who works as an events planner, she only want to help in little bits for her friend Lauren... Not plan the whole thing for her best friend but all within three months! Not asking for much, when she's turning into a bridezilla. Not only that her other bestfriend Sarah the news of a wedding isn't what she needs as she now getting divorced.
Between dealing with her best friends she up for a promotion at work, one that she never thought she'd get, however the clients are far from easy, asking for pink bunny rabbits amongst other things. Oh yeah and the boss from hell, Maddie has got it all going on. Don't forget the new guy, Will, she has just meet, fall head over heels for him, even if he isn't telling her everything, plus his some what of a friend Tom has some interest in her, which Maddie isn't to sure about.
Overall some craziness before a wedding is what you always need... Errr what could possibly go wrong, or in better words what could go right?
I loved this book, it had me reading on into the early hours of the morning just to find out what happened next, I know you'll have trouble putting it down too.

To all you future bridesmaids... Hang in there!

I've only been a bridesmaid once, but have worked in the wedding industry for many years so know all the ins and outs.. It can get a bit crazy, so you need to just keep calm.
Here's a photo of me being my friends bridesmaid last year at her wedding, I was lucky she wasn't a bridezilla.
