Book review - "Something Borrowed" by Emily Giffin

Dear Ladies,

To continue with book for your summer holidays, as we are now well into June, I thought I'd suggest another one of my favourite books. (This has already been made into a film, out last year).
Now I picked this book up on recommendation by an actor who was auditioning for the part of Dex in the film version, however he didn't get the part, but I do think he would of made a good Dex, however I was happy with the actor how got the part.
Getting back to the book! Here's the front cover:

The blurb reads:
Rachel and Darcy are best friends who've always shared everything -
from their childhood in Indiana to their twenties in Manhattan. But while
Darcy breezes through life getting what she wants when she wants it,
Rachel has always played by the rules.

The one advantage Rachel's always had is the four-month age gap
which meant she was first to become a teenager, first to drive, first to
everything... but now she's about to be first to thirty. And so on the eve
of her thirtieth birthday, Rachel finds herself questioning the status quo.
How come Darcy still has a charmed life - a glamorous PR  job and the
perfect fiance - while Rachel... doesn't? Is it just luck? Or are things a
bit more complicated?

Then an accidental fling changes everything, and Rachel is suddenly
forced to learn that sometimes true love comes at a very high price...

This is a gripping story, we've all know that one person in life who just seems to get everything they want, their life seems perfect. So asking yourself why you have got it either can be hard. But for Rachel when she knows who she wants her friendship with Darcy could be lost. Rachel met Dex in college however believes hes out of her league, so when he fall for Darcy, Rachel can see that is just meant to be. However after her thirtieth birthday party, Rachel and Dex are the last two standing heading out to more bars, the Sparks start again which leads them to both end up back at her apartment. The guilt about what has happened eats away at Rachel, however hasn't she always had strong feeling for Dex? Could she hurt her best friend? Will Dex choose Rachel over Darcy? Such a gripping story, which will have you siding with Darcy, then Rachel! In life should you put yourself first, or your friends? I love this book, set in New York (The place I really want to visit!) and shows the ups and downs of their friendship.

I hope you make space in your hang luggage for this book, as I know I couldn't put it down! By the way there is a follow on book to this! So it doesn't all end here! The next book is "Something Blue", I won't tell you to much about this book yet, as i want you to read this one first!

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday,

Love Lolly
xoxo
