New Jersey Nights - Theatre Night

Morning Everyone,

Well yesterday was Wednesday, the half way point through the working week for most people. What did you do? I spent mine, singing and dancing while watching "Jersey Night"! I'm glad I got tickets for this show, a great way to spend an evening. The cast take you on a musical celebration of all the hits of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Four fantastic singers are the main people who take you through each of the hits, including Sherry, Rag Doll, Can't Take My Eyes Off You, and Big Girls Don't Cry. Backing dancers, take you back to the times when these hit were big, with their costumes helping to enhance this, they are beautiful. Showing their moves on the stage will have you fixed to what they will be doing next. Also joining the singers and dancers were a fabulous live Rock band, who were up on the stage for you all to see them in action.
Overall if you want a different enjoyable night out, go see this show!! "New Jersey Night!" There are still tickets left for this week in Milton Keynes till Saturday.

Ps I'm still singing the songs as I write this all to you.

Handmade Card - Shoe design

Hey craft lovers,

I've got plenty of birthday on their way, therefore know I need to get busy and make some more cards. Here's a quick one I made earlier (As they used to say on Blue Peter).

Here's what you need to create this card:

Over all a quick but pretty card to make. I love using stamps as you can use them again, and again, but also change the colour of each item but using a different colour ink.
I've got plenty of more cards to make, so I'll show you them soon.

Take care,

Love Lolly

Book review - "I heart Vegas" and "I Heart London"

Heyaaaa,

Hope you all are well, I just thought I'd give you two books that you might want to check out!! I posted last year about "I heart New York" which is the first in this series, followed by "I hear Hollywood" and "I heart Paris", I gave you reviews on all these books. If you have read them, hope you enjoyed them as much as I have. Now, if you didn't already know there two more that have been about for a while that follow on in the series. They both carry on Angela Clark's life and how she seems to find plenty to do where ever she is!

Book four:
The Blurb reads:
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...

Angela Clark love her life as a Brit in New York.
Unfortunately, she's also a Brit who's lost her job.
And when the immigration department gets wind of this
just before Christmas, Angela needs to find a new
job urgently. Or a Husband. And she doesn't think
her boyfriend Alex will be keen.

A girls' weekend in Vegas with her best friend Jenny seems the
perfect way to forget her troubles. From the minute they arrive
Angela is swept up in a whirl wind of cocktails, outrageous outfits,
late nights and brushes with the chapel of love. But soon,
rather than escaping trouble, Angela is up to her neck in it...

After three great books, this next addition to the series follows on perfectly. Its not just the guys who get to have all the fun in Vegas, but the girls know how to paint the town red! Angela wants to forget her troubles, but we all know you shouldn't run, which Angela has done before. We all want to be this girl having fun in Vegas, however knowing things won't get better till she sorts out her life, I know i wouldn't be able to stop worrying. Such a fun read, which will just having turning pages before you know it!! Great Girly read.

The fifth book:
The Blurb reads:
Home is where the heart is. Right?

Angela Clark has fallen in love with New York -
and it's starting to love her back. But when she's
summoned home to England, she's at risk of losing her
shiny new life to rain, warm beer and bad memories.
Talk about stepping back in time.

There's Mark, the ex-boyfriend - who she ran to New York
to get away from.

There's Louisa, her best friend, with her terrifying new baby.

And there's her mum, still talking to her as though she's fifteen.

Now there's a wedding in the offing - and everyone
remembers how well Angela behaved at the last one...
Can the arrival of boyfriend Alex and new best friend Jenny
save her from a re-run of her old self?

The series bring us to London (My local city), Angela's old home. I love the fact the author has brought the main character back to her home place, the place which she ran away from. Angela gets to find out how much has changed. Craziness follows Angela which we found out in the last books, and continues in this book too!! If you have read the other books you need this in your life too.

Enjoy your weekend,

Love Lolly

Book review - The Secret Lives of Dresses

Greetings,

We are all looking forward to the summer already (Yeah, I'm bored of these wet cold days and nights) but to pass the time I love curling up on the sofa with a good book to read. I was brought this book by a friend, who thought it was funny as I'm a girl who owns MANY dresses, therefore she thought this book would suit me.
The blurb reads:
Dora is in love with a man who barely notices
her, has a job she doesn't care about, and dresses
entirely for comfort, not style. All a far cry from
her vivid, eccentric childhood, growing up with
her beloved grandmother Mimi.

However, when disaster strikes, Dora knows
she has no choice but to return to her childhood
home and take over running Mimi's vintage clothing
shop. And there she makes a surprise discovery -
Mimi's been writing stories to accompany every dress
she sells. Romantic, heartbreaking tales about each
one's secret life before it got to her shop...

Dora starts to matchmake these lonely frocks
with new owners, but will the stories help her as
well? Trading her boring high street clothes for
vintage glamour is one thing. What she needs to
know is whether she can trade her safe old life
- and love - for something better too?

My friend may of thought this book would be a bit of a joke with its title and the fact that the main character is call Dora, which is close to my real name. However, it was a book I really enjoyed reading. Clothes and Love mixed together, what more could i ask for? A lovely story about a young girl dealing with the loss of her Grandmother, trying to cope without her, but also understanding her love of vintage clothes. An endearing story to read and share with others. Therefore if you are looking for a new read, why not pick up a copy of this book.

Homemade cards - Thank you and Christmas

Hello,

Before Christmas I didn't get much time to make Christmas cards, which I was disappointed about. I'm gonna get some made for next year!! However I did get chance to make two, for my Grandparents.

Now Christmas has passed, I received many lovely presents, now I just need to say Thank you, so I've spent a bit of time making some cards. Mostly for family.

The Character is created from a stamp, which I've
then coloured in.

Just a cute handmade card, so I can say thank you.

Welcome to 2013

Hello everyone!

Sorry i haven't posted in a while, the new year has been keeping me busy already. Straight into the new year, my friend and I went to the Theatre to see Milton Keynes Christmas Panto - Cinderella. Staring Louie Spence, this made my friend and I book our tickets. We are quite big fans of his, and find him very funny but also an incredible dancer. Of course I love dance so was excited to see him take to the stage in an acting role too! The cast were fantastic, with Anna Williamson (From Daybreak) as Cinderella, Kev Orkian (Comedy) as lovable buttons and Deniece Pearson (80's pop Icon) as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother. All held the attention of children and adults alike, with everyone singing and dancing away. Many jokes included, which gave you all a giggle. I hadn't been to a Panto in years, so this was perfect, but also finished off the Christmas season.

I've also been busy sorting out my wardrobe, which if you know me, is a tough task as it isn't little. I've got a collection of many bags, shoes, oh yeah plenty of dresses. Therefore I decided before I started shopping in the sales this year, I needed to clear out some of the old to make way for the new. I've got just a few black sacks full!! At the start of the year its always new to have a tidy up and feel fresh for the new year.

Speak to you soon,

Love Lolly
